What does the DCLT do?
DCLT is a continuous level transmitter for the Donnelly chute feeding the mill. Its measurement can support monitoring and the control strategy defined by the mill engineering team.
Operational performance also depends on cane conditions, installation, configuration and integration. Replacing an instrument alone does not establish a universal percentage improvement.
Published product characteristics
The commercial documentation lists a 4 to 20 mA output, resolution of 40 measurements per metre, Spread-Spectrum Charge Transfer technology and a web dashboard for diagnostics and adjustments. It also describes level-history storage through an IoT interface.
Check these characteristics against the requested model and configuration. Confirm power supply, interfaces, installation and environmental conditions before procurement.
Planning integration
Survey chute dimensions, access, mounting positions, cabling and available PLC or DCS inputs. Define how the signal will be displayed, recorded and used by the control logic.
Agree acceptance tests, operator training and support responsibilities. Validate configuration under the actual process conditions.
Selecting the instrument for the application
The portfolio also includes SLV, with digital outputs. Digital signals and continuous measurement address different integration needs; selection depends on the intended function.
